Copyright & DMCA Policy
Last updated: August 14, 2026
MentorHog respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects everyone who uses the Service to do the same. This policy explains how to report content on MentorHog — a mentor's résumé, an avatar, a file attached to an action plan, or anything else a user has uploaded or posted — that you believe infringes your copyright, and how we respond to a valid report.
1. Filing a Notice of Infringement
If you believe your copyrighted work has been used on MentorHog in a way that constitutes infringement, send a written notice to [email protected] that includes:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or someone authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail (e.g. a URL or a description of where it appears on MentorHog) for us to locate it.
- Your contact information — address, phone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
A notice missing these elements may not be actionable — we may ask you to complete it before we act on it.
2. What Happens Next
On receiving a valid notice, we will remove or disable access to the identified material, and notify the user who posted it.
3. Counter-Notification
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to [email protected] that includes your signature, identification of the removed material and where it appeared before removal, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district (or, if outside the U.S., an appropriate judicial district).
4. False Claims
Knowingly submitting a false infringement notice or counter-notice can carry legal consequences for you, including liability for damages.
5. Repeat Infringers
We will suspend or terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers of others' intellectual property rights.
